Frequently Asked Questions
What is regenerative farming?
Regenerative farming is about working with nature, not against it. It focuses on improving soil health, increasing biodiversity and restoring ecosystems.
On our farm, that means:
Grazing animals in a way that mimics natural patterns.
Letting fields rest to promote soil regeneration.
Reducing chemical inputs.
Encouraging wildlife and natural pollinators.
It’s farming for the future. Leaving the land better than we found it.
Why do you rear hogget instead of lamb?
We choose to rear our sheep longer, allowing them to grow naturally on pasture into hogget (sheep aged 12-24 months).
Why?
Better flavour — Hogget has a deeper, richer taste than younger lamb.
Natural growth — We let the animals mature slowly on grass, as nature intended.
Sustainable practice — Raising hogget fits perfectly with regenerative grazing, giving the land time to recover and the animals time to thrive.
It’s all about quality over speed.
How is your packaging sustainable?
We’re committed to reducing waste and protecting the environment. That’s why we use:
Sheep’s wool insulation — A natural, renewable and compostable material that keeps your meat perfectly chilled.
Recyclable cardboard boxes — Fully recyclable and sourced responsibly.
Reusable ice packs — Just pop them back in your freezer for your own use.
We believe that great food shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet.
Why do you sell meat direct to the customer?
Selling directly to you means:
Fresher produce — Straight from our farm to your door.
Transparency — You know exactly where your food comes from.
Fair pricing — We can offer better value without supermarket markups.
Our boxes are carefully curated so you get a great variety. Supporting nose-to-tail eating and reducing waste.
